C/O Washes Forever? Can This Be?

I was just wondering if I could “permanently” use the Conditioner wash on a daily basis would that be okay instead of shampooing (which I heard can strip hair of it’s natural oils no matter what kind you use)? And maybe I could shampoo as a clarification purposes only once a month or so. I ask because I really love the c/o washes and it gives me shine and luster that I have never had with my hair before. What is your thought on this?

Lots of ladies here do daily co washes. I think they might use shampoo maybe once a month. Everyones different, but it sounds like your hair is thriving so I would definitely continue

Yes, you can. That's the idea...never using shampoo to clean the hair. I only use shampoo when I retouch my texturizer. I use ACV to clarify. I don't ever intend to use shampoo again (except when relaxing my hair).

I had the same problem when I first tried condition washes using my beloved humectress -- left my hair too heavy and weighed down and I thought CWs were not for me. However, when I tried again using sauve coconut, my hair just thrives and keeps looking better the more I do CWs. I think the type of conditioners used for CWs really makes a difference. For my 4b hair I found that heavy, creamy, thick conditioners do not work well, but the thinner (and cheaper!) consistancy gives superior results. I like suave anything for CWs and save humectress for when I 'poo.

I never thought about co washing forever...I didnt know conditioners can strip your hair of natural oils, so if thats the case, why would u have to clarify?

Right now, I am doing co-washes 3-4 times a week with Suave Tropical Coconut and I shampoo once a week with Motions Neutralizing Shampoo...

If your hair and scalp can handle it, it's fine. I was hoping to be able to only poo monthly, but my scalp isn't having it. I seem to have to poo more now that it's warm than I had to in the winter. In the winter I had to do it twice a month. Now I have to do it at least 3-4 times.

Just be careful that your scalp stays sufficently clean, b/c your follicles can clog, creating hair bumps and discouraging hair growth. Not all shampoos are bad for your hair, there are plenty of mild, moisturizing poos that don't strip your hair. And ACV in the right proportion removes build-up and cleanses the scalp w/o stripping as well.
