Hi all!

I'm new and felt like this was a great time to say "hey" and "thanks!" for the plethora of hair knowledge you guys share on here.

Why is this a great time to come out of lurkdom? Because I am sitting on my Dad's bed with some sort of homemade avocado and garlic mixture (for shedding) on my head, which I made with grapeseed oil (for the ceramides) following my first time using Aubrey Organics White Camellia conditioner (for the awesome). Did I mention that I got my grand-uncle to put it in my hair? :lachen:I was going to wait until I got my Qhemets AOHC and BRBC in the mail but I was too excited to try this anti-shedding concotion. I confess, I was a product junkie but in my defence I was starting from zero and I've discovered quite a few staples so the PJism has slowed.

Anyways, in short, I've learned so much and my hair has made such a 360 that I am floored. Prior to LHCF... well... I didn't care for my hair at all and I never learned how too given that no one in my family really knew. In my family you had good hair or bad hair or my kind of hair which was called "hog hair" (That's supposed to mean really thick and strong but sounds like the furthest thing from a compliment to me :perplexed). I had a relaxer put in my hair when I was four years old because my "hog hair" was so thick that it was sending combs to the graveyard on a daily basis. I chopped off quite a bit in February of '09 but only discovered LHCF in July of '10 so my hair was stagnant. Now, almost one year into my HHJ, even though I am unsure if I want to transition or relax, I am really loving the texture of my natural "hog hair" - dense and when nurtured soft and delicious. :lick: My hair actually soft?! I can hardly believe it! *squee*

I've got 17 minutes left with this "Guachairmole Conditioner" so I'm going to peace out and watch "The Queen".

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Yeah, your uncle must be cool. And welcome to the forum! I hope you share the outcome of the avo, garlic, and grapeseed cond. mix with us. HHG! Btw..it does osund like you've got some yummy, lush hair strands. Share pics sometimes too pweeeze.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

As for that guachairmole conditioner... *profanity*... it cut my shedding by at least 92.3%. When I combed my hair there were only three strands in the comb (rake comb) as opposed to having hairs woven around the teeth. Bleeping amazing, I am so relieved. Like, phew. I know I wasn't about to go bald but I was still very dismayed by all the shedding. My hair still smells terrible so I'm deep conditioning again today (with Keracare Humecto)... I need to find a way to liquifiy the garlic so I don't end up with chunks of it stuck in my coils. :nono: Pictures to come when I move at the end of the month!

My "tweeked" mixture:
...measurements are inexact because I didn't measure...
2 Avocados
1/3 cup peeled garlic
1.5 cups Grapeseed Oil
1/4 cup Honey
1 cup Yogurt
