So I did my own self relaxer and I burnt my scalp in the back. /images/graemlins/mad.gif..I applied there first. But it only burnt in one section near the middle to crown of my head on the left hand side. My hair didn't mat alot, it's not noticeable unless you feel it.

what can I do? /images/graemlins/confused.gifsome of my hair is sticking together, and some parts of strands are sticking to scalp /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yesterday I greased my scalp with nature's blessing knowing that I burned it some. Should I not wash my hair until the scabs come off? will my hair come out with it?

I co washed my hair the night before touch up cause I went to the gym ( didn't plan on retouching yesterday but couldn't take new growth) and I based it vaseline before i relaxed, maybe I didn't put enough on that section /images/graemlins/frown.gif

need help....

Just make sure you dont pick at the scabs or comb your hair around those areas. Apply oils or the grease periodically and massage to loosen the scabs. You can wash your hair whether the scabs are still there or not. HTH! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

i remember when that happened to my roomie in college she was told to spray that area w/oil sheen periodically. she said it helped.

maybe the relaxer was too strong!?

I've used the motions oil mild for a while, even before I went natural and I rarely burnt my scalp.

That section was the first section I applied it to and it was on for the longest, Also I had a hard time separating my hair during applying because the new growth was knotting etc.

I think over manipulation and not applying fast enough. I think I just need to plan ahead of time and not touch-up out of frustration and make sure my new growth is detangled.

thank you everyone for the suggections.

Put a little neosporin on the scabs. That should help.

That is my recommendation also.

Neosporin and aloe vera gel. It happened to me once but all over and mainly in the back. My stylist did it /images/graemlins/mad.gif I did wash my hair the next day because it was matted to my head. I couldn't style it. Lay off the heat for a while. What helped soften it up was a rollerset. That made it much better. So I would suggest rollersetting it for a while but it will continue to ooze for a day or two just keep applying aloe vera gel and neosporin whichever. Don't pick the scabs let them just fall out or loosen up on their own. Good Luck!

I've had this to happen to me, too. My stylist tried using a different relaxer, and it set my scalp on fire. I swear, I think my soul was burning. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif I had some scabbing on my scalp and used A&D Ointment and Tea Tree Oil Ointment on them. Try finger combing the hair where the scabs are instead of using a comb, which could aggitate the scabs. They may start to itch as they are healing, but fight the urge to scratch or pick them.
HTH!

I throw aloe vera on everything. Its supposed to be good for healing. Put some on your scalp and see what happens.

I got burned myself a few days ago..Neosporin is helpful, especially the one w/pain relievers. KeraCare makes a product called Dry Scalp Glossifier that may also help you.
