Those are some cute styles. Where to you get the Whirl a Style from?

Also, where is the cheapest place I can get a Hairdini from, for anyone who knows?

I found the WhirlaStyle in only 1 of 4 Claire's stores that I shop in. The only size they carry is the large for the same price that's on the site. I plan to order the other sizes from the website.

Is it really easy and works?? Most of the time, I buy those things and they don't work.

I would drive off a bridge if I could only wear buns everyday.

When I get tired of buns, I wear my hair like this

sushitail.JPG

I got the style by parting my hair and putting the top half in a sushi bun with a hairagmi and then combing the left out hair up and putting it over the hairagami to secure

It is a cute style Boadicea. Do you leave your hair hanging in the back or does that go up too?

Anyone know where I can find a larger size bun donut? Sally's seems to only have one size and that is about 3 inches across.

Thank you. I leave it hanging in the back. The sushi bun acts as a scrunchie.

When I part my hair from ear to ear, the bulk of it goes into the sushi bun and only a little bit is left out to make the ponytail (makes for a very skinny looking ponytail), that way the ends won't be dry all over. Only a little section which can be re-moisturized on its own at the end of the day.

You can get a hairagami at CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reade and some other local places. I bought mine at Duane Reade for $7.99.

Please be careful and patient when using a hairagami. I lost a few hairs being too hasty! But now that I've slowed down and tried it again, I haven't lost any.

I always thought that was a pretty neat hair tool (when I saw the infomercial). I can't believe I never got one.

Unfortunately, there isn't a Duane Reade in my area...I guess I'll check out CVS...maybe Walmart or BJ's has it too.

I just tried it a day or 2 ago. I have the large one and it leaves a space bigger in the middle than my donut which is the only thing. That's not really a problem because it gives you room for creativity (double bun on bun etc.) I think its alright. It's a do able and it's easier than the donut but not as big. It also, in my case, not a perfect circle. I still need to work with it. See my "Pics" I have 2 pictures in the "Bun challenge" folder. You can be the judge if it's something you might want. Be warned, I'm experimenting with new cameras and I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. I'm also 11 wks ,tomorrow, post relaxer. HTH!

Spagirl,

Your hair is so pretty and I love the bun pictures. Thank you for posting them. My problem like Mindymouse is that when I buy these things they dont work right.I think that its because my hair is still in layers and I always have loosed ends and fly aways and I hate that . I like neat secure buns like the pictures you posted. But my hair is not even or long enough in the front to acheive that look.
Why does it seem like the longer my hair grows, the more I am unhappy with the length? (Probably cause I come to this board and see everyone elses hair!)

Thanks for the compliments!

Sky, did you see the ones on the WhirlaStyle site. I don't know if you like this style but the Zulu knots can catch almost the shortest of hairs.

Maybe I will try it. Those styles look messy. They dont look as nice as your pictures

But I do know the best way to find out what works is trial and error- maybe I am just anal. My hair has to be perfect I like for no strands to be out of place...I gotta work on that! The back is past my shoulders but the front is like at the bottom of my neck. I think once my front gets past my collar bone it will be easier for me to do the bun styles because the bun will be thicker and more even.

Great pictures Spagirl! Your buns are beautiful! Do you prefer to wear them in that position versus low or high on your head? I'm still experimenting with bun placements.

i bought a small clip from the website. i have shoulder length hair. i did not want to buy the big one b/c i thought that it would be to big. do you guys think the smaller one will fit. i didnt buy the smallest one but the one inbetween.

Here's what I've done CN - I've cut bangs as you know,

You do know that when you're growing out your hair..
If you cut bangs...the back slows down/stops in growth
so the bangs can catch up.

I'm guess here now, If you have a ponytail that measures about 6 inches I don't think you will have a problem if you want all your hair in one bun. I took my measuring tape and slipped 1 inch excess through the WhirlaStyler and then wrapped 3 rotations around it and it measured 6 inches when I stopped.

Otherwise there are other options which varies depending on what size you order (L,M,S)also remember the longer the hair the thicker the bun. This can also be altered by buying a medium or small size styler (you don't have to spread it out as much, less styler to hide). Hope this makes sense.

I bought a styler from the website and I have a question for the people who bought one off the internt. How long did it take to arrive?

Hm. Yeah - no, I've never experienced that.

My hair actually looks to me like it's going through a little growth spurt!

But thanks...

Ok this is gonna sound lame - but I printed out that 2nd motivation post (Yvette's) and I carry it in my bag with me. I read it on the train every morning. Every morning. I'm even starting to LIKE my bun now I read it so much!

has anyone tried the hair tryx, while searching for new bun ideas i came acroos the hairtryx. You are supposed to be able to use it 20 different ways. I have been lhinking about ordering it, but it is costly for someone on a budget. If anyone has tried this please respond. I would like some feed back before purchasing this item. http://www.crownjewels.com/Tryx/TryxHome.html
