Buns are a topic in my marriage

How about only wearing your hair down when you get home from work or when he's around? I wear my hair up or in a bun when I leave home but as soon as I get home I let it down.

barbie 83, those pictures are gorgeous!
Op, I think you should let your hair down sometimes and adjust your regimen accordingly, just baby your ends. If your husband doesn't like buns, he doesn't like buns.
what about a pretty french braid?

Compromise is the key! How about bunning during the week and then wearing it straight, rollerset, or braidout on Fri, Sat, and Sun?

I would alternate like the other ladies said and also try doing the donut/styled buns with some flowers or hair accessories when you do wear the buns. My SO does not care too much for weaves but after he has seen my hair growth he does not care anymore, he just wants me to switch it up and not wear them constantly. So I switch between my real hair, buns and half wigs

I wear my hair like this 7 days a week. And I'm still making progress.

It's in a banana clip. As long as it's not touching my clothes I'm straight!

Wear your hair out on weekend, holidays, vacation, etc. That might be enough and still keep you on track to meet your goals.

ETA: Yeah, what NikStar and laurend said.

My husband doesn't want to see me in another bun. I have pretty much gone from Sl to Apl hair since I have joined the forum. I just have one big problem. Buns are ruining my relationship. My husband is really tired of seeing me in them. He likes it when I wear my hair down, and thinks that my bun is just me being lazy and not wanting to do my hair anymore. I have already explained the reasoning behind it all, and at this point he doesn't care how long my hair is or gets. He just wants to see some style again. He doesn't like protective styles in a nutshell. Does anyone else have this problem? What should I do?
Yes and I hate going to the salon, I go for trims only and I get my hair done. I never keep it down, soon as I get home its back up but that's just how I am. We have agreed to leave the subject of my hair at rest, lol...

When my hair was longer (apl), I would rollerset my hair and either finger comb or wrap into a dubie, or wash and go.

Good luck with everything.

My DH is the same way. Can't stand weaves/wigs/braids. I think the tips from the ladies are great about wearing it down at home in the evening so he can get a peek of it. Though my DH made me mad and told me the other night, that I had reached my peak and it wasn't growing anymore. It was partially true because I have been slacking, but the comment stung anyway. So now I plan on showing him and getting tree braids as my winter protective do. He'll just have to be upset for a minute. :arguing:
