Bun Question

Hi Ladies......I've lurked for months and gotten a bunch of wonderful tips! Luckily my Mom and G'Mom were sticklers on hair care so other than a few slips in my early twenties, I take pretty good care of my hair. You ladies are the bomb though!!

Okay on to my question.....I love wearing my hair in a bun, but I have always used a satin covered bun form. I'm a bit confused, is that okay? Should I soak it in something (oil)? How do you use a sock?? I'm relaxed, shoulder length ( I still haven't really figured out the number/alpha system yet).

A satin covered bun form is fine. The satin will protect your hair and keep it from drying out. I've also used a sock, but covered that with satin also. A lot of times an uncovered sock will dry your hair out. To make a bun form using a sock you cut the toe off and just roll the sock into a doughnut form. Welcome to the board.
