It seems like every time I dc I can never get all the conditioner out and when I scratch my scalp to make sure there isn't any left on my scalp there always is. Am I using too much, the wrong conditioner, or just need to scrub it out for 5 or more mins?? It makes me not want to dc but it makes my hair so soft.

Try watering it down a little, using it on wet hair, and rinsing longer. Also, when's the last time you clarified? I find that even if my hair doesn't feel like it needs one, if I have DC buildup, it's usually because I still have a lil goo on my scalp.

Ok thanks! I never thought about watering it down, so I think I will try that next time dc! I clarified about a month ago so maybe I will try clarifyig also. I thought I was gonna have to give up on my dc! thanks again!!

For however long it takes me to apply the DC, I times that by 2 for rinsing time. Same thing for shampoo.

Ugh...I know what you mean about having conditioner left on the scalp, even after rinsing. To minimize this, I make sure I apply the conditioner to the length of my hair only. I avoid my scalp, as if I were applying relaxer cream. This method has worked great for me.

Thank you guys so much! I really am gonna try all the advice yall gave me! Im gonna clarify, apply my watered down dc like I would with a relaxer and however long it takes to apply, I'll rinse twice as long!:yep: I feel that the build was slowing my growth process because usually my hair takes off in the summer and this summer it didin't and I'm sure that was the cause, so I'm willing to do anything to keep my scalp clean while keeping my hair moisturized w/ my dc's!! Thanks you guys!!
