Once that new growth kicks hard I got peas in the pot! How you tame them? I don't brush them, so that answer is out!

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

I used to brush mine with some gel/water/hair lotion, tie it down with a scarf while in the shower, and they would be smooth by the time i was ready to leave for work.

Lol at the title!

I used gel and a scarf too when I was relaxed

Now that I'm natural I don't notice them anymore....does that mean my whole head is a buckshot??

:lachen:I kid, I kid...I

I agree w/BklynHeart, you can eliminate a brush if you wish. Or use a tooth brush to be gentle or some ladies use a soft boar bristle. Use water, oil, aloe vera, or a combo of whatever. Then lay it down with a scarf.

If brushing them is out of the window then have you tried applying a gel like Fantasia IC coupled with some type of moisturizer and twirling them around your finger? It'll turn into a bigger coil as opposed to buckshots. Or, you could also use the palm of your hand to flatten them after you've applied some type of product.

If all else fails, then I suggest the toothbrush idea. It's much softer than a brush. BTW, why are you against using a brush?

Thanks for the idea ladies, but the twisting up part makes them look like little dreads!

I got this tip from N_Vizion blog: Put some leave-in conditioner on your hair-line and tie it down with a scarf.

If they are truly "buckshots", you are gonna have to touch them with something...ur fingers, a soft brush. I work with a girl who has them all the way around and I just want to brush her hair everytime I see her. She ties them down with gel and they just look like flat buckshots!

:dighole::rofl:

when they're bothering me, i just smooth them down with a bit of water and a dab of my favorite conditioner at the time.

as they get bigger, i pull them down, and turn them into really pretty coils.

but most of the time i just let them be! they don't usually pose a problem, plus why should i be ashamed of my hair growing in? :)

Oh, snap, do you work with me? :lachen: Oh wait, that's right, I don't even bother to tie mine down!

haha buckshots xD i always feel like shaving mine when they come in, and they're everywhere now that i'm transitioning... one day I had my hair up and my sister was like "girl i can see so many buckshots, put your hair down!" and I asked her whats going to happen when I'm fully natural, will i still be trying to hide them? :lachen:

Listen here beady-bead, the scarf trick works every time. You can wet your hair use sunsilk hang straight, brush it up, then scarf it down. Listen to everyone here man, it's effective.

BTW, I know what you mean about slapping a brush on them nappy peas. It hurts!...feels like a powerful electrostatic shock that reverberates all up and down your neck, and makes your shoulder jump up so hard it leaves a bruise on your cheek.

Good luck!:grin:
