8 flat twists pulled into a bun.
Flat twists in the front (2 on each side) and hair in the back pulled into a ponytail then braided, pinned under.
Twist out.

Two strand twists on wet hair; shrinkage keeps it above the shoulders.

Loose hair or jumbo twists in various buns (figure 8, cinnabuns, donut, etc.) using hair sticks.

French rolls & chignons using Amish hair pins, Goody Spin Pins or the Topsy-Tail tool.

Sent from my SGH-T599N using LHCF

1 big French braid, 2 goddess braids or one big crown braid. I rarely do buns now...my hair is too heavy for them & they give me headaches no matter how loose I make them.

I actually like to wear my hair out a lot, but I have to wear buns for work. When I want long term protection I wear wigs with plaits underneath.

Before I cut my hair I was bsl and protective styles were extension braids and twists, or some sort of rod, or roller set

Right now I'm under a sew-in and only time will tell if it will help with retention or just cause havoc on my ends. In the past, buns were the the only reliable protective style for me.

ezina Are you relaxed or natural? Wouldn't the braids protect your ends? I'm wondering because Im thinking about getting a sew-in but not if my ends will suffer.

None now. I made it! However twist pinned into a bun were really helpful in reaching my goal.

Two strand twists that are placed into a loose bun or single braid formed into a bun. I vary the positions of my buns, tuck the moisturized and sealed ends under the pony tail holders I'm using and secure my bun with a bobby pin or two.

I'm usually in a twistout side bun. Like 99% of the time. It's quite boring.

Sometimes I wear a twistout, but I can never guarantee how my hair will look a few hours later, so I try to avoid it... because I might start off the evening looking really cute, then a few hours later, I catch myself in the bathroom mirror like, wth happened??
