BRUSHING IS TABOO Right?

I bought the d4 and it just sits in my new growth screaming..." so ya think I am going to go thru that stuff"... :)

I have to use a stiff bristle brush to get my edges to lay down... it is synthetic, wide spaced, but soft. Boar bristles didn't work to well with my hair.. the bristles were too close together. I would always see alot of hair in the brush afterwards.

i broke down and brushed yesterday when i washed my hair. this is the first time in awhile. i used a boar brush (gently) and didn't notice much hair in it.

Between 2003 and 2005 I did not use a brush AT ALL. When I first moved to Arizona, I started using a brush to put my hair in a ponytail daily. it only took 2 months for the damage to show. All my hair had broke off in the front. :( I was very sad about this and promised not to use the brush again.

Cantbecopied, when I learned how to "lay the smack down" I didn't need a brush anymore. After co-washing, I mixed my leave-ins, oil, and activator together and threw it on my hair. Then I put my hair in a pony, put a scarf on my hair and waited an hour. I can see my natural wave pattern each time I do this. And I don't ever have to use a brush. I comb my hair in the shower while I am rinsing out conditioner.

Side Note: Activator Gel is the bomb! Your natural wave/curl pattern will 'pop' out as soon as you put it in your hair.
