Has anyone ever attended this hair show in Atlanta? I'm going to try and make it to the one this year Aug 9-11. If not this year, then next year. I think it will be very exciting and also a great idea for some of us to meet there.

I have been to so many hair shows but I believe I attended a Bronner Bros in 1990 something and let them style my hair. It was okay.

Could you enlighten me on what exactly goes on at these hair shows? I've never been to one, but this one looks pretty exciting...

I went a long time ago and, since I was actually in the show, I was behind the scenes the whole time. Basically, different stylists are showcasing new hair styles and Bronner Bros is showcasing various products.

I also was in a Paul Mitchell hair show and they did the same thing.

Shamboosie mentioned something about this show in his book. It sounds similar to the Afro hair and beauty show they have in London.

I think it's probably a lot of hair care companies, salons etc showcasing their styles and products, how to's, free product samples etc.

The thing he said about it from a hair point of view was that the hair being done was mainly fake, by stylists with a lot of fake hair being attended by women with fake hair. This probably gave him more incentive to write about how we can take care of our own hair.

When I did it in the 90's, we all used our real hair. One of stylists wanted me to be in his hair show, but he changed shops before I could go.

The problem is that they treat your hair like $$it. They got very upset with me because I told them I didn't want waves in my hair. However, you have to let them style it like they want since you have agreed to be in the show.
