Bringing your own products to the dominican salons

I don't take anything on a regular basis, but I have brought Nexxus Therappe and Humectress if I haven't washed my own hair for awhile, and I've brought my clarifying shampoo before as well.

I take the Affirm relaxer when I need a touch up. I also take my Creme of Nature shampoo and my Affirm 5-in 1 Reconstructor. I let them use their conditioner because it has much slip and smells good.

I used to bring a different deep conditioner each time I went. They only used CON poo, so I didn't have to drag that in. Now I have to bring my colourshines, cuz the current stylist is always putting some other color in my hair, as if I don't know what color I use /images/graemlins/huh.gif?

I'm taking my bottle of Clear Colorshines tomorrow when I visit my Dominican stylist for a "wash,roll,blow-out". I checked with her at my last visit after seeing a couple women clutching their own bottles of product while at the shampoo station. She will only charge me $5 extra to apply the Colorshine (due to the additional dryer step) as opposed to an extra $20 if she used her own supply of Colorshines. Still not a bad deal though. I'll keep using their conditioner until I start missing my Humectress badly enough, and even then I will just pour from my huge container into a travelsized one when I go into the salon.

i bring my AO shampoos, conditioners, and rinse, and my giovanni leave in.. i even bring my own comb and relaxer when it is time for a touch up.. they do not have to use any of their products on my hair....they know this sista is no joke when it comes to her hair .... /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bring Dabur Vatika Henna Cream Conditioning shampoo, Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal conditioner, Salerm Wheat Germ Oil Mask (deep conditioner) and Salerm 21 leave-in conditioner.

The only thing I'm charged extra for is sitting under the dryer for 5-10 minutes when using a deep conditioner.

Boadicea, I had considered bringing my own deep conditioner befor also--how much do they charge you for sitting uunder the dryer?

I believe it was $3 to sit under the dryer for 5-10 minutes. Officially I think it's 5 minutes, but by the time they get to you, another 5 minutes has passed.

Overall, I think it's more cost effective to deep condition at home. Sometimes I would wash my hair at home, use deep condition and walk right into the salon with the deep conditioner on my head and have them rinse it out, use conditioner and the roller set my hair. I wasn't charged extra for it.
