I have been on Biotin for about 2 weeks and I have noticed lil bumps on my face, particularly on my forehead, anyone else experience this?

I've never experienced breakouts from biotin, however, i've read posts from other members who have

Cuz biotin is wter soluable, try drinking a gallon of water a day to help "flush" it from ur system. If u drink a gallon already, well try to drink more... hopefully this will pass through...

Sorry Anjel about the bumps. I too haven't experienced it but have read of that happening to people until they reduced their biotin intake. Peachtree's idea sounds like a winner, so you could try that if you don't wanna drop your intake. Also B5 is supposed to be good for treating (preventing?) acne and so if you aren't taking it, you may want to add it to your regimen or increase your dosage of it. The good thing about B5 is that it's good for your hair too, so you'll be killing two birds with one stone.

Anjel, I experienced breakouts from biotin as well. I had to cut Biotin out of my vitamin regime. I will eventually start taking it again, but probably in reduced dosages.

Anjel, I did get the bumps on the forehead at first, then I started drinking about a gallon of water a day and the bumps cleared up.

Anjel I also got the bumps on my face. I increased my water consumption but the bumps wouldn't go away. I was taking 5 mg. I tried decreasing it gradually to see if the bumps would go away but they never did so I stopped taking biotin altogether.

HTH!

I got bumps, or a slight rash from the MSM......so I started taking them every other day, and i drank lots of water....

Try taking half your dose, this may be your body telling you, you are taking to much!

let us know how it turns out!!!

I haven't experienced any breakouts from the biotin either (knock on wood) and I've been taking it for a month and a half now. If it's causing a bad effect, I would probably not take it anymore. Is it worth it to not like your skin and only like your hair? There are other vitamins that you could take. The GNC Ultranourishair has all the stuff for hair but has a lower biotin content.

Anjel,

The solution is vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). Even on a loading dose of 16mg of biotin per day my face was smooth. My T-zone wasn't oily like it usually is. When I ran out of B5 for a week (but still took biotin), the oil and small bumps returned.

Right now I take 10 mg of biotin and 4 mg of B5 per day. Buy 1 get 2 bottles free at Puritan's Pride lately.

If you google search B5 and acne, you'll get MANY MANY more testimonials. I tell you, it's B5 for smooth sailing. You've got naturally smooth skin (unlike the problem skin I got from Mom's side), so you'll get it back to good in a couple weeks.

HTH,
Meg

you either need to lower your dosage or stop for a while. the bumps i got started to die down once i stoped with the bitoin.

Hmm interesting...I take Biotin, MSM, B5, multi-vitain, Evening Primrose oil and Silca. My face is very clear but I usually get breakouts before my period. I don't know if my breakouts are due to the biotin intake. But I will definitely do this; I will drink more water thanever because it does help the vitamins absorb, well...

Unfortunately, that is a side effect that effects a lot of us (myself included). I stopped taking it after about a month (that was 5 months ago) and I still have fine bumps on my use to be flawless skin.
