Hi ladies,

I texlaxed my hair about a month ago and all was lovely. My hair won't stop breaking now. I'm losing long strands too, but most don't have the root on them.

I've got Apoghee, but I am afraid to use it. The elasticity in my hair is gone and it has turned even more of a dull brown color.

I, at least, wet my hair daily with either a shampoo and/or conditioner. I use Profectiv Break-Free as a leave in. Then, I bun in a phony pony while wet.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I can't get my hair into a decent ponytail unless it is wet.

Girl...

I've been dealing with breakage for almost a month now...it has slowed down but Thursday I just went and got a trim. Even now, I am still noticing a few short, broken hairs...I guess she didn't trim enough off? I am at a loss at this point...but I will tell you NOT to use that Aphogee. I got desperate and did this and my hair was falling like black snow...I could of kicked myself for doing that...

I'm sorry that I don't have much of a suggestion...just wanted you to know I feel your pain...but hey...when my Aveda Moisture Intervention line comes out I'll give you a free liter!:lachen:

Do you know when the new Aveda line is coming out?

hard aphogee, then deeep condition with heat afterwards. that combination works every time i get little breakage spells.

Okay, I did the hard apoghee and now I have Aveda Damage Remedy treatment on my hair under the dryer.

Do you think it is okay to sleep with it overnight?

Run! don't walk! to the nearest BSS (NOT SALLY) that has a wide selection and get CERA-REPAIR hydrotherapie or fortetherapie it's by Matrix Biolage treatment I paid about 14.00 for 5 tubes

The Garlic shampoo cut back on the shedding and some breakage, I found that keeping my hair wet with a leave in or moisturizer was frustrating because as soon as my hair was dry, I could hear the snap crackle and pop!

My breakage is much better after a single treatment! I used Fortetherapie but I also picked up the hydrotherapie to use as well.

Good Luck!

Okay, I kept the Damage Remedy in overnight and rinsed this morning. It is still breaking. It is so scary to pulling locks of my hair out. I feel like I'm going bald. :nono:

Any other suggestions?

i am having breakage problems as well. its gotten really bad in just a few days. i had used a 6n1 reconstructor last week, cause i THOUGHT my hair was too soft, and ever since then my hair has been shedding by the more than ever. i have a good amount of new growth too though. i had to wet it and moisturize it to make it soft and manageable. but its still breaking. the ends of my hair look 'frayed', so i keep it moisturized. it helps a little. im gonna go ahead and get a relaxer this week though. maybe thats whats going on with yours? i m scared to comb mines too. usually i can go a week without having to comb my hair and barely see any shed hairs until i go to wash it. this time, everyday ive been pulling off strands from my ends. im starting to think the protein in the reconstructor may have been too much weight on my newgrowth

Seems like thus far you have put a lot of protein in your hair, the Aphogee and I think the DR line is protein enriched. Maybe now you may need to use a moisturizing deep conditioner to balancing it out.

I know when my hair has too much protein, it sheds.

Definitely! :yep::yep::yep:

What are you using as a leave-in or daily moisturizer ?
