Breakage from Braids?

Hey everyone, I've had braids in for about 7 weeks now. In between the braids I have hairs thats only a around 1 inch long. is this hair from the braids thats broken off or is this new hair growing in? TIA

I noticed the same with my box braids too. I concluded that it was probably hair that had broken off b/c my braids were a little tight at first.
Were your braids tight when you first got them? What type braids are you sporting?

they were tight when i first got them. but i've just noticed it in the last two or three weeks. my braids are strating to get kind of frizzy. I have medium sized box braids.
