Ok, I decided I want braids(straight back), because I am tired of looking at this mess on my head. Not sure If I will go natural, or keep with a relaxer. I decided 1)I will have my hairdresser wash them every two weeks, and 2)oil my scalp prett well. I am thinking about having her rebraid my hair every 6 weeks. Just for a while, so I can give my hair a much needed break

I decided to get braids to give me and my hair a much needed break. I am seriously toying with the idea of going natural. MissBrown's natural hair looks good. I am adding her to my hair inspiration list. My last perm was January 30, 2004.

I'm letting my relaxed hair take a break for the whole summer by wearing it in braids. I just don't like to take my time trying to manipulate my hair so much. And besides, I don't have to worry about getting my relaxer touchup for a good while.

I'm into my third week with braids to help me through summer and transitioning. Loving them. I think I was doing too much - with styling etc - and it was time for a break.

My plan is to keep them in until the week of the 30th, take them down for a wedding, and then after the wedding put them back in for the rest of the summer.

I wash or condition wash about every 2 to 3 days. And moisturize with a light leave-in, a detangler, and an oil or butter twice a day. I also started Surging once a day...maybe every other day.

So far so good. My braids are still very soft and easy to handle. The ends are finger-combable (new word??) And I just have a few sprouts here and there which I'm not stressing about because I think thats due to wetting them so often. But its more important to me that my hair gets it moisture and conditioning than it is to keep the braids super neat. If they start getting too fuzzy - or if I just don't like the way they're looking - out they come and I'll go for a do-over.
