Braids/Two-Strand Twist Slipping or Growing?

Hello everyone!

I've been gone a while!

I had two-strand twist extenstions put in on December 21, 2003. Well after one month, I noticed what appeared to be one inch of new growth all over

! The two-strands were not tight to my scalp so I thought I must be having slippage but when I examine and tug on a extension, it does not budge and it's very tightly secured around my hair.

Could it be that because I'm pregnant, my hair is growing at double time or is my discovery just wishful thinking!

It might be a combination of slippage and growth. You may have a little bit of slippage, but not an excessive amount of it.

Congrats on your pregnancy.

I put little black rubber bands at the end of extentsions just to make that what I'm seeing is growth not slippage. My hair is black so it matches the black rubber bands.

my twist extensions slipped first but now you can really tug on them so I think that kinda tightened them...

My general rule is that around the hairline, most of the apparent growth is probably just slippage - since that's the area that gets tugged most frequently in styling -, but the apparent growth towards the center of the scalp is actually growth.~ I think a lot of the slippage occurs when the braids/twists are wet and then pulled, rather than just being tugged on when dry.
