Yeah. Defiietly wait a bit. I've heard that you should wait until you have a decent amount of new growth that way the extension has something to hold on to. There was a thread about it somewhere on here. (I'll look for it.) Also, if you going to get braids, why not just get the braids and skiop the relaxer? Like Sequoia said, just do a protein treatment and deep condition your hair and after that get the braids done.
Here's a thread about about relaxers and braids. It pretty much says that you really need to wait a while, (close to 4 weeks) to get braids put in if you want your hair to be healthy. I saw a ton of other threads concerning this isse, just put "braids relaxer" in the search title and you see a bunch pop up. Hope this helps!!
