Hi Ladies,

I have been stretching since late July. I am about to get a perm pretty soon and have been wearing braids and extensions since july. I just took down some braids (cornrows) and my newgrowth is very thick and hard to navigate through. Before I do anything wrong I wanted to ask for your help. After you take down braids what steps do you take to avoid losing hair???? should I put conditioner on first? or wash first? I have tons of new growth and I cant comb through it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can do a pre-wash with your fave conditioner and olive oil, shampoo, protein treatment, then deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner.

I say put conditioner on it first for a pree-poo to soften it up, but check out Den1 album she has a method for when she removes her braids. HTH's
