Braidout-rollerset?

Ok, I have this bright idea to do a combined braidout-rollerset. In my mind, I imagine wavy roots with spiral curled ends. How do I go about achieving this with a set. Should I braid the roots then place a magnetic roller?

I say cornrow the hair and the part that is braided down and not on the scalp put on a magnetic roller or a flexi-rod.
