Hey ladies what is really really good. I went and got my hair braided by the africans(keep in mind I have never worn braids)I told them not to braid to tight and while she was doing it I didn't feel any pulling but boy when I woke up the next morning

I felt like someone was pulling every strand of my head( I have a huge head). It feels a little better know. Hey will my hair come out because it flaked up with some white flakes and also it feels a little tingly everyone is telling me they snatched me bald

. I"ve only had them in for 1 week and I paid 80$ I love the style but I'm about to take them out. I'm eager to know if hair is still on my head.

Holla at a sista.....

Well I can tell you one thing for sure....make sure you start using astringent on your scalp RIGHT NOW before the build up comes. They sale it at Sally's. I thought you were suppose to use it after the build-up comes the girl that braids my hair (and she does have a license) told me I should have used it before the build up came. The astringent is supposed to combat buildup.

After a week, there should still be a little tightness (w/ the braids) but things should start to feel a little relaxed by now. Have you tried washing the braids yet? I have individual braids and when I wash them, they actually look better. I've had mine in for about 4 weeks now.

If you feel that they aren't too tight by now, then I wouldn't take them down. But remember if you do decide to take them down, that a lot of hair is going to come out b/c it's hair that's been shedded but has been "stuck" in the braids. I had to take my front braids out (to get rebraided b/c of buildupd) and I had 4 weeks worth of shedded hair. That was a lot of hair and it kinda freaked me out.

you can usually tell if you're gonna lose any hair by the hairs along the hairline. those are the ones most prone to coming out. what i usually did after getting braids is wash my hair. that really eases the pain. i would also take some Aleve prior to getting it braided. i'd keep looking for another braider because even if your hair is okay this time, eventually it takes its toll...

I am currently wearing braids that were done by the "africans" about 1 month ago and they are hanging by a starnd. I just started using leave in conditioner and surge and washing one a week. Once your hair starts growing it will loosen up. I am getting my edges redone soon.
