Braid Wearers, How to Prep Hair for Braiding?

Heh ladies,

I have decided to braid my hair from Feb until August.

So, I want to know is there anything I need to do beforehand to strengthen the hair? I just don't want it to break while I am in braids. Also, how to I maintain it? I was thinking of spritzing with a glycerin/water mix daily and use human hair.

When i was in cornrows i usually spray with braid spray and infusium leave in every day. And try to keep my braids moist cause i have extra dry hair. My hair looked really Moist/great when i unbraided (using unbraid of course).
