I am taking out my cornrows today. Any helpful hints on taking them out properly. Should I do it while the hair is damp or when it is dry. I definately don't want to lose any.

I personally don't think it matters about being wet or dry. Second thought, I think it's better to do it DRY because your hair is more fragile when it's wet so the less manipulation (while wet) is better. DO IT DRY! If you have the cornrow extensions, cut at least an inch or two longer where your certain that your own hair is not at the ends, and then just unravel from the ends, working your way up to the top. I did this just last week or the week before (I even did a post) and then I washed my hair and set it in the ponytails method. I used Suave Coconut conditioner and Salerm 21 and it came out GREAT!!!

You know,....after reading ENDLESS posts about the GREATNESS of Salerm and even after USING it myself for (had it for over a month),....I'm STILL not REALLY SURE WHAT Salerm 21 is exactly!!! How sad, right? I know that it is some sort of conditioner and most of the ladies on board were using it as a leave-in, so that's how I've been using it! I don't know about it being an actual DETANGLER because I don't have a problem w/ that, but it does make my hair very soft and it feels stronger when I use it (it is a protein but I think a light one) and my hair gets very BIG and FULL when I use it! So, I cannot actually DEFINE WHAT Salerm 21 is, but I do know what it DOES for my hair!

I soak my head with oil and then remove the braids. After removal, I put more oil on my hair and comb through it really well. I always make sure to remove all shed hair, tangles, lint, etc., and then I wash my hair.
