I learned so much from you guys so I must give a big thank you to everyone! To anyone who's working on growing their hair out, don't give up, but don't stress too much about it. I am kind of surprised because at this point I get about a quarter to half an inch every month so I was a little dismayed that my hair wasn't growing as fast as some of the other ladies on the board, but I guess I shouldn't have been. Not only is it bra strap length but it's stayed even since my last trim which surprised me because of the horrible tangles I've been getting for the last few months which caused some breakage. Also a special Thank you to Supergirl and Tracy for their advice, esp. Tracy's color advice! I hope this inspires anyone who's feeling like giving up on their hair as much as you guys inspired me! </font>

ES,

No thank YOU for letting us know! You are quite the inspiration to ME right now as a "quarter to half inch a month" girl. Knowing you've gotten there, with an average growth rate, instills some faith in me that I might one day too.

I may not cut my hair now...(I was considering that thinking it was hopeless - I'LL NEVER GET TO WAISTLENGTH!) -you've given me something to hang onto!

You GO girl!

Tracy,

You'll get there, it's just takes a little time! What I do which I really think helps is set little goals, instead of aiming for waist length hair, I set my goal as collar bone length, then armpit and then bra strap length. Setting smaller goals allows me to see growth and then I feel happy everytime I reach a goal. That's how I reached bra strap length in what seemed to be no time.

You set your first goal for collar bone length? That's what I've been doing too, setting small goals so this is very inspiring for me too! Thanks for posting and congrats!

btw...do you have any pics? What is your hair type?

Congratulations, EmeraldSky

Good advice about setting shorter-term goals. I'll have to keep that in mind when I get frustrated! And yes, Tracy's advice re: colored hair is invaluable.

Stormy,

Yes, my first goal was collar bone, my hair was about an inch above that. For a second I thought I had mistyped because I can't even remember when my hair was that length, but that's the truth. I set 1-3 inch goals.

congratulations Emeraldsky! Good advice about short-term goals.

I've noticed lately that my hair growth is only about .25 - .5 inch per month (even in the summer). Last summer it was .675 - .825 per month. It might have been my daily protein drinks and my oatmeal bkfst but, I haven't lost hope even with the slow growth. You serve as another inspiration .

Thanks!

Congratulations EmeraldSky!

I am about 3 inches away from brastrap myself, and reading about your milestone is certainly encouraging. Thanks so much for sharing - - it really gives me something to look forward to!

Congrats! How long did it take and what was your regime? Did you also do the daily and conditioner washes?
