Your hair is beautiful. I just staring using henna and I like it so far! How often do you do it. I've only done it twice. Two weeks apart.
Was this your first time trying henna Lilmama1011 What did you do? Steps for henna I mean.
I love the smell of henna and the process. But it doesn't take too well to my hair. My sister did a henna to my hair in December of last year and my hair which was BSL broke off so short I couldn't tuck it behind my ears. I still had hair that was BSL but it was so thin! I have researched everything I could find on the internet and no one has made a complaint about henna bringing out their hair. When I asked her if she put anything extra in it she said that she used tea but that shouldn't have been a problem. My hair was permed at the time but according to research henna is safe for permed hair.
I am 20 weeks post my last relaxer and transitioning. (yay me!) I have always stretched my hair for 12 months between relaxers, however in '08 and again in '12 I was blessed with 2 boys and my hair became very hard to handle during that time so I relaxed more often (every 4 months). Now I have decided to stop completely and I didn't transition alone. I have 3 daughters ages 20, 18 and 16 and a niece age 19 who all came alone for the ride.
My girls have all had henna treatments done by me and they have had no problems with breakage. However my oldest two girls both used the henna mixed by my sister and they both had breakage. Theirs wasn't as bad as mine.
I didn't do the BC but I did cut it back up to my shoulders. Now it is almost APL. I love the henna and I want to do my hair again but I am terrified of damaging it again.
