Botched Braid Out...One Pic!

So yeah....last night I tried a braid out. I am posting this from work...needless to say I look like a complete ragga-muffin! I'm definitely washing it out and starting back at square one. I was so upset. It looks so stupid!! Ugh! Well we win some...we lose some. I used jojoba oil and motions cream hair dress to do it. I rolled the ends to make them curl...Ugh...looks so lame...well enough talking here is the picture...

I can't see a bigger version of your pic but the little one looks fine to me. You know we are usually our own worst critics and if you look back on this picture in a few months you're going to think differently.

^^^ I can't see the larger pic, but the little one looks just fine. When I have a braidout I don't like I just throw it in a messy bun. I don't have the patience to start over and the bun always looks cute.

It just looks messy and scraggly...like I had cornrows, took them out, and walked into work...I am having a bad hair day in my eyes...and I'm sure everyone knows how that feels. I feel like everyone is staring at me. I would have done something with it before coming to work but I have an hour commute each morning and couldn't afford to change it at the last minute.

Also...I used that Roux Porosity Control Last Night...HATED IT!! Never again!

It looks pretty to me but you said that it seemed scraggely to you next time, dig your fingers into the roots and fluff it a bit and also separate some of the strands so that it will be fuller. I think you will be happier with the result if you do that.

Wanna see a really jacked up result?, Look at this tragedy that happened to me a few years ago when I took out some flexirods. YIKES. At least yours didn't look jacked like mine.

I get my best braid outs on damp hair using leave in , conditioner and some kind of oil and I do 2 cornrows because I like mine more wavy.

I use old school sponge rollers on my ends though..

Dont give up though, braid outs are the best!

Yes ma'am I sure used sponge rollers too! Maybe it was that PC...because I was like UGGGHHHH when I was in the shower...never ever ever ever again! I will try it!

And OHHHH my hair was COMPLETELY dry when I came to work and guess what...it started dripping "OIL" out of no where!?! WTH is that about?!?

is this the braidout from the you tube video you poted yesterday? if so i wanted to try her technique to but had to watch it again because her hair didnt come out looking crinkly it had big curls and i wonder if its because her hair is shorter. But i like your hair.

Yeah this is the one I attempted from the video...and I think you are right...because her hair is shorter...

Probably too much product. If you use a cream an oil, just use a little bit of each. Like a really little bit. I usually only put a little oil on my ends, not on the strands.

Braidouts do rock. Keep trying...I had to have a friend do my first couple of braidouts before I developed my own technique.
