In theory I know what they are and what they're supposed do, in practice, I've never really been drawn to them, that's usually a sign for me that something probably isn't good for me. I've seen all these products over the years and I just don't feel anything lol

I have a few Olaplex products (N°4, 5 and 9), and a couple of small tubes of Living Proof Triple Bond Complex. They're also both heat protectants, which is what piqued my interest in them, although I didn't actively seek them out.

I'm interested in knowing why people choose to use bonding products. What do you feel are the benefits, before these products became a thing, what products would you have used that may have acted in the same way?

What are your favourite bonding products and what do you like about them.

If Bonding is not for you, have you had a bad experience with it previously? Is there another reason you choose to stay away from these types of products?

You may just have an opinion or some insight into the products you might like to share.

I’ve been using Bond Bar by Sally’s since it came out I think. There’s a thread around here somewhere.

There’s an Olaplex thread too. I was instantly in love with Bond bar versus Olaplex. I only really liked Olaplex Mask and Chelating Treatment however with Bondbar I love the shampoo , conditioner and deep conditioner from start.

I recently tried Olaplex newest deep conditioners but not enough to repurchase the two.

Overall my hair is strengthened but not harsh like a protein treatment.

I color my hair on occasion and blowdry every 5-6 weeks so it works for me.

Thank you, that's very helpful, I'll go check out those threads.

I used to use Olaplex heavy when I was keratin treating my hair and the ends would end up scraggly after a few full applications. My curls would pop back if I over did it. Now that I’m using low heat I find other things that work better and are cheaper

Hi! :hiya:

I have tried different Bonding Products by Olaplex, Redken and K18 (and I have a Bonding R/O by Garnier).

I enjoy using them and having them in my Stash.

I feel they coat the hair shaft and make the hair stronger overall. As a Relaxed Head, I felt overall they protected my Strands and filled in broken bonds from the Chemical(s).

Thank you, that's how I expect them to work. I've seen people post videos about damage from using bonding products, that's what got me thinking about this.

I know someone who has been using keratin treatments for 4 years, she likes using a lot of protein too so there's no moisture in the routine at all. I thinks it's damaging her hair. It's good to hear that your curls popped back too :yep:
