How do u blend in clip in extensions so that they look natural?
I am not sure that I want to try them b/c I dont want to wear anything that looks remotely fake. I would buy curly ones and use them when I want to wear a wash and go look. (kind of like the curly-haired girl in the pic)

Any suggestions?

man i'm sooo tempted to get those hair clips. (thanks for sending the link, by the way). I've been thinking about getting these clips for the past few months just to add a few to the back to give my hair a few more inches. I saw some on ebay which were a little cheaper, but that was like 2 months ago. I just don't want to buy online because this is something that i'll have to try out first to see whether the relaxed or the curly works or even if it looks like i imagined. I don't know the answer to your question, I just wanted to tell you that i want them too.... :D

They blend in just like blending a weave. The key is getting a texture that matches yours and placement.

I have never used curly extensions, but I hear that those are easy because you can roll your own hair and them make it all blend in.

Buy, if the textur does not match your own it is almost impossible to blend.

thanks, honeydew. Can you elaborate on placement techniques please?
Also, my hair is relaxed straight. It dries curly when I put it up into a bun or do twist outs. How can I be sure that the hair "matches"? TIA

This site may give you ideas: http://www.hairconspiracy.com/generic78.html

I have a set of those clip ins that I bought from ebay just to play with. I cannot do it on my own. After hours of trying to make it look nice, I had my hair-dresser do it and it looked great. But I took them out after a couple of days.

It seemed like a temporary thing to me.

It's funny - I got an interlock weave put in Sunday and it is done the same way those clips are put in except the weft are attached with needle and thread only instead of with clips. I don't have any braids/cornrows in at all and it is very flat and I can part it any many ways.

Both seem better than the clunky sew in with cornrows, but more of your own hair is exposed so you have to take care of it more.

lovelylocks: those seem very expensive. I have some of those clips too. It would seem cheaper to purchase the hair and clips separately.

Honeydew: as far as interlocking, how do they secure the tracks with the needle and thread, since there's no braid?

Honestly, I don't know. She uses thread and a needle. I have been trying to figure it out. This is her site: http://www.petalshairsalon.com/
