I know everyones gonna scream 'No! For all thats holy, no!...' Buuut, being the funkified dork I am I really want noticeably purple hair so I was looking at the L'oreal Excellence Cremelights and saw it was ammonia-free and well, I'm tempted to try it out. Can someone guide me the right direction if I'm being naive...

Ammonia Free should be ok....

But that's not bleach - it's just regular home color as far as I know. Bleach is a defeinte no-no. Are you relaxed? Natural? Any other color or chemical in your hair?

I'm a 4a/b relaxed with Affirm. Oh, I'm talking about the Excellence Cremelights Highlighting kit. I don't know if its actual bleach but it does have peroxide which makes me nervous. Any other color lifters would be appreciated.

ive had bleached relaxed hair which i did myself at home and ive NEVER had any problems with my hair breaking or the ends being damaged despite the no-bleach-while-relaxed rule. it wasnt till i went to the hairproffesional for the FIRST time in my life an got my hair bleached that it was damaged. go figure...

I have had bleached highlights from the salon and I have no more breakage or shedding than I did pre-highlights. Since joining this board, I have virtually no breakage or shedding. I have 4a relaxed hair.
