Isn't this kinda like a relaxer? I'm 7 months post relaxer and I was thinking of trying BKT, but after researching a lil I'm thinking I might just texlax instead.

BKT is a temporary curl loosener, lasting 2-4 months. I am 6 months post, and it makes my hair easier to detangle when wet, and it also makes my flat-ironed hair relaxer-straight and reversion-resistant. I'm using it to assist my transition.

it also doesn't break down the hair bonds like a relaxer would...it basically coats the hair with keratin.

i heard there is a new kind that you rinse out and has no downtime. The ingredients are not available though

I know Softliss can be rinsed out the same day, but I think you might be referring to the new Rejuvenol formula. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't comment.
