BKT in Houston, Texas

With all the threads circulating about the BKT treatment, I decided to research the salons that offered this service in Houston. I'm planning on getting it done at the end of the year when I get to BSL, but I wanted to share my findings with you all.

I called the ANNZA Salon because they offered the same treatment that Southerntease received (Smoothing Therapy by Coppola). She said it's $250+ depending on thickness/length.

Anyway, here are my findings. If any of you decided to go to either salon, please don't forget to post your review!!

You're welcome! I can't wait to get it done. I keep looking at Southern Tease's results and I'm loving it! I'm really hating the shrinkage that I get, so if this treatment helps elongate my curls...I'm all for it.

I have had it done twice in NYC and paid $75 the first time (Lasio One Day) and $99 the second time (Rejuvenol). Lasio Studios wanted $375 for the same treatment that I had done at another salon with a Lasio trained stylist. If the price ever jumps to $150 per hour at my new salon, I will just buy Rejuvenol and do it on my own.

Very interesting. I've been reading about it and thinking about it but honestly, with the exception of maybe 3 heads, the results I've seen have NOT been all that That photo under Yamil's info reminded me of why I feel that way.

I think the problem with BKT pictures is that the hair really looks nothing like that after the first wash. It's difficult to take a picture that expresses the beauty of BKT. Because I guess the benefits are more likely to be felt by the client than seen... at least, initially.

When BKT is in the hair, it's a coating so the hair is weighed down. It may or may not be shiny and it really has nothing to do with how the hair will be after the first wash. Ah... but after the first wash ... this is where the romance begins. The ease of detangling and retention, the shine, the drop in frizz, the clump and definition of the curls... Not to mention the hair will improve in coming months. The three months that I've done BKT have left my hair better and better than the 6 months of care my hair had prior to that.
