Biotin And False Thyroid Readings

Ladies be careful using Biotin. I was diagnosed with Graves disease(over active thyroid) about 5 years ago! The only symptom I had was the blood test showing my TSH was high and thyroid hormone was low! At the time of my diagnosis I was using 10,000 Mcg of biotin. I visited my endocrinologist last week and she informed me of a recent study showed that using high doses of Biotin(10,000 plus) can give you a false reading for thyroid disease. The study says you should discontinue Biotin about 2 weeks before taking a thyroid blood test!

No not yet! I have just stopped taking the thyroid meds and then I will go back for next appt to see what the test show!
