oh ok. do you know of any semi perm that is safe?
I use it and I love it. I wouldnt use another permanant dye and it's the only other thing that covers my grays.
Some concerns people talk about are how PPD (the stuff its made from) is bad and causes allergic reactions in some people and can be deadly, etc. Some say it dries the hair out after long use. That may be true, but my hair is in good condition and I deep condition weekly and have no problem with dryness. I used it back in the day off and on and I've been using it consistently for about 2 years now.
I've never experienced any adverse effects or ever known anyone who has. But I've had PLENTY of bad experiences with other commercial dyes and know plenty of other people who have too so...pick your poison I guess.
I was using Bigen for about a year with no negative effects. Then....one day I decided to use it the same way I've always done and I had an allergic reaction. My scalp began to itch really bad and become sore. The next morning I had red bumps w/ pulse especially around the hairline. It took a few days to go away.
So I switched to Robert Craig b/c I'd heard it was much better than Bigen. Wouldn't you know it...THE SAME THING happend again. I've just been sticking to rinses since then.
I don't know if Bigen changed the formula or what. This is just my experience some people have very positive outcomes from using both of these.
