Big Mama brand wigs???

They are meant for the morbidly obese, but I'm thinking about buying one. The reason is because as my hair gets longer and thicker, fitting into normal sized wigs is proving more and more of a challenge. I remembered seeing Big Mama brand wigs for sale but I just cannot get over the marketing.... :nono:

Have any of you ladies worn these wigs? They are more expensive than the wigs I'm used to buying, and I can't say I'm overly impressed with the styles on offer.

What about other large cap wigs? Have any of you tried any, can you give me some recommendations?

Oh Lady P- how I covet thou waistlength hair. Okay don't kill me for this one, but I think www.especiallyours.com has different sizes like L,XL, etc. The only thing is I noticed their wigs run a little on the expensive side too. It must be a task to get all that hair under a wig :giggle:.

Hmm... I looked at the site and couldn't find the large wigs... but I know the prices are way higher than I'm going to want to pay (as I am pathologically cheap and proud of it!)

SelfStyled, thank you for the compliment :rosebud: You have no idea how hard it is getting this hair under a wig... and now it's the point where the wigs are so tight (even though I pin them on instead of using combs) it's very uncomfortable.

Why did I come up in here picturing the wig Martin Lawrence wore in the movie Big Mama's House?

*Shamefully exits thread, laughing to self*

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: Well, when you look at the pics on the gmbshair site I linked to, this wigs look just like he did in that movie. :nono: SMDH. And the names are like Big Maria, Big Nana, Big Toots, Big Mable :nono: It's a crying shame. I really don't want my money to support that kind of nonsense.

I agree. Well, I hope you find something that meets your needs. I pray that one day I'll have that problem...got too much hair to fit under a traditional wig. You go, Mz.LadyP!! Your hair looks great!

:blush3: Thank you! I'm nowhere near my goal yet, but I'm enjoying the journey. :yep:

Maybe I could just pin the wig on top of my hair but leave some of the cornrows around my ears and nape out? Not exposed blowing in the wind :nono: :creatures , covered by the wig hair but just not stretching the wig to fit over that part? I'm just trying to problem solve here.

Any ladies have suggestions for what I can do?

I brought a short style one for my mom from a local bss because I heard it was for the 'big mamas', it really fits her better than the regular bss short wigs because her hair always sticks out on the sides. The big mama wigs give full coverage. Now, I am not sure if u would like the styles because they are not that trendy. My mom has only 1 inch of natural hair so she does not have much to tuck under.

i can't believe the marketing for those wigs!:nono:

not all obese people have big heads!

Tis true that not all obese people carry weight in the skull, lol. I suppose there are those who do, however... I have seen it. :ohwell: And the marketing is kinda racist to me. Big Mama Toots WTF?

Full coverage is just what I need, too! If the hair is long I guess it doesn't have to cover everything perfectly, but I'm not trying to walk around with my wig slipping showing my cornrows so folks can talk about me. :nono: and you KNOW they would :lachen:
