Beverly Johnson hair tangles???

I tried on Shalie from the handmade Beverly Johnson collection and nearly bought it....until the staff said that everyone complains about tangles with BJ hair "the wigsn weave and braid hair....all of it tangles easily"

Is this true? Does BJ hair tangle easily? I really like the handmade collection. Even DH, who went with me, liked the handmade cap since it layed better than the caps with wefts. I ended up buying Sarifa by Vanessa in jet black. But I like the BJ pearl style synthetic lace front too.

i've never tried the handmade collection but it is true the BJ hair tangles easily. I've used the regular wigs and the braiding hair, I don't like either.

Yes, It tangles really easy. I have a sew in with BJ hair now. It gets so tangled, I hate to comb through it ! I will never purchase it again.

I read that soaking it with fabric softener and water helps with the tangles.... I never bought a B. Johnson wig, but I am considering her new lace wigs.... I've heard the same as well though

Yes it does. It has a very bad reputation. It looks great for about 2 weeks, then when it is washed.... it is awful

I own two BJ wigs; one is very short pixie cut of human hair, no tangles, no problems. My bra length BJ I rarely wear is synthetic with very fine,flyaway, silky texture {could the texture of her synthetics be the problem?}, no problems I guess due to very infrequent wear. I find my other brand synthetic wigs tangle at the nape and back area due to rubbing against clothing-same as my real hair would if it was worn down.

Well, honestly - any hair will tangle.... What you can do is Shampoo the hair with Castile soap,(BEFORE YOU INSTALL/WEAR) then use leave in with lots of silicones.... lastly - spray with any silicone product... allow to dry - and - it should be fine for a while.

Maybe that's where I went wrong... I wore my wig frequently. Really cute style but after two weeks or so it started to look tore up.

Yes BJ's hair tangles a LOT and TERRIBLY. I had to take my sew in out after just 2.5 weeks I think, it was so bad. I will not be purchasing her weaves ever again. She does however have great synthetic wigs.

BJ weave hair is the worst - it's nothing short of a bird's nest. BJ & Milky Way are known as 2 of the worst weave hair brands on the BHM board. I don't know how this translates to wigs.

It was BJ's Wet N Wavy that I wore for the last 14 months or so that I was in braids. I never had any problems with tangles, but I also had it braided to the ends and would rebraid whenever it unraveled. The hair is still reusable as I was telling someone, that how you take the hair out determines on whether it'll be tangle free and reusable. I know this may seem obvious to most but when I undo my braid extensions, I never use a comb but use my fingers and make sure to slide them to the ends to separate the sections before moving lower down the braid. Fingers also can feel so you don't dig in too far down the braid before you're "there" (vid -- Extension hair is BJ Wet N Wavy hair)Doing this has never damaged extension hair and that is how I'm able to use the same hair for years.

Now I can't speak for hair that will be worn out like a weave. No experience with BJ weave hair.

I do plan to try using silicone products on my current synthetic wigs (modu and vanessa) to see how they hold up.

I may give a BJ wig a chance if the silicone use works well.

Thanks. I'm glad to read that the synthetic wigs are not as bad as the weave hair. Her synthetic line now has a futura fiber that can be curled up to 200 degrees.
