BET 2007 Gospel Show

I saw the very end with Kelly Price....That is one annointed singer right there! And she did one of my favorite gospel songs of all time!!

I think the show was wonderful. We have a lot of great gospel singers BUT 1. Why do they get Steve Harvey to MC ? ( he is a very fouled - mouthed comedien ) As much as I hate to say it but I would rather they have Bobby Jones MC...
2. I think Fantasia sang beautifully but her dress was inappropriate for a gospel awards show ( some of the men couldn't keep their mind on GOD for looking at her revealing dress:lol: )

I agree. I was surprised at Fatasia. She usually does not wear revealing clothes. You usually looks really nice in her performances. She sounded good. I think the gals were trying to outsing each other too much.

I think Steve was good. I use to not feel his loud, obnoxious routine but he has grown on me.

I'm sorry but could someone tell me the name of the song that Kelly Price sang? I thought the show was very good...I especially loved Shirley Ceasars, Albertina Walker and others performance(dont remember the other ladies name).

Please don't think of me as a wet blanket but isn't this the SAME station that promotes lust, adultery, exploitation of woemn, greed, coveteousness, etc? I don't know it just has a very hipocritical feel to me especially with Steve Harvey as the host. I mean how can a man with such filth proceedingout of his mouth be chosen to host a GOSPEL awards show?:perplexed I liked the singing by the women but I wish Lil Mo and Fantasia would stop prostituting their anointing to world for cash and start using it for their creator who gave them that "joyful noise" in the first place. I didn't like the spirit of it at all. Gospel awards show....they probably air "Tip Drill" right afterwards:lol: Sorry, I digress.:look:

The song is "For Every Mountain" by Kurt Carr.

Kelly wore that song out!!! I'm so glad I recorded so I can watch her performance again!

I missed it, I only saw the last performance. I'm hoping they reair it so I can see it in its entirety.

I co sign with that part...:perplexed

I'm just gonna say it: I didn't think the Gerald Levert tribute was appropriate. Loved Kelly's singing and the song she sung and all that, but the "honor" was misdirected, if you will. There were a number GOSPEL music artists and workers who passed last year but there was nothing said about them.... And I don't recall this show doing any kind of posthumous tributes like this, either.

This is another example of the "worldliness" and "commercialism" that has tainted gospel music.

Thanks so much for sharing this link. That song brought me on my face in worship of our Almighty God! It ushered me into HIS presence ..Truely inspired by God...Kelly is sincere & you can feel it in her song. Does anyone knowwhere I can get Kelly's rendition on cd or download it on iPod? Thanks

I dunno, folks. I'm very fully aware of BET's misgivings, but I just took the show for what it was. Performances full of worship and praise and a little showing off..(i.e. Little Mo, Coko, Fantasia and Junior)

I liked it a lot. My favorite performances were Kelly Price 'For every mountain' and Kirk's 'Imagine Me'
