Good evening ladies.
I'm new to this forum but I just wanted to give a little testimonial about my hair care trials and tribulations.
I have always had a head full of thick hair, but I must say that since I've been released from the bonds of creamy crack my hair has been so healthy!
I realized my need for a relaxer was a sickness. That mess used to burn the dickens out of my scalp, yet I'd endure that burning pain just so my hair could be bone straight.
I finally decided to stop torturing myself and go natural. So I have been so for the past 7 years, and during this seven year time frame I have worn many hair styles...
Microbraids, headwraps, 2 strands, afro, 2 strands w/ extensions, tree braids, and now I wear my hair flat ironed straight. Many folks find it hard to believe that I don't have any chemicals or weave in my hair.
I even convinced my mom to give up the creamy crack and she too has a head full of hair. What really helped sway her decision was the fact that she started taking thyroid medication and the relaxer combined with the medication caused her hair to break off.
I must say though, that me and mom's hair would not be in the wonderful condition it is in withouth the health from a great stylist who ensures that our hair remains healthy.
