Best Thick, Creamy Moisturizers For Natural Hair?

Hey ladies, I wear my hair in a bun everyday for work and I use moisturizers/leave-ins to keep my hair slicked back instead of gel. I've been using the shea moisture curling smoothie, but it leaves my hair looking dull, even when I use it with coconut oil. I was wondering if any of you ladies have any more recommendations. I have also tried the cantu conditioning leave in but it's just meh for my hair. I'm looking for something really moisturizing and thick/creamy. Thank you!

Shea Moisture CES leaves your hair dull? Really? That always gave my hair a lotioney look and feel. Just goes to show there is no #1 creamy leave in for all natural hair.

Miss Jessie's Leave in Condish is a favorite leave in of mine. So is Carol's Daughter Hair milk, although outs greasy.

Everyone is going to have a different answer since there's 100 million great awesome products on the shelves and digital shelves.

Yep CES was a big dissapointment. It works great for my SO's hair. Go figure. I'm not in the bun challenge, just in the military lol But I can attest to buns being the best for hair growth. Before I joined the military I chopped my hair to about apl, maybe a little longer and within six months my hair was waist length again.

I agree about the SM CES. I love that stuff in the winter, but I get waaay better shine from their hair milks. I currently love their Coconut Hibiscus one, but I think they're all really good and have a good amount of slip.

DevaCurl's Heaven in Hair and boy is it thick and creamy. When mixed with coconut milk it's even better.

From the drugstore, the only actual thick creamy leave ins I know of is the Cantu Shea Butter, the Neutrogena Triple Moisture, the Garnier Frictis one in the chubby green bottle and the Shea Moisture Styling milk. All of the rest seem to be watery or thin.

The better leave in conditioners for natural hair tend to be from the salon brands and natural hair companies. Drugstores have way fewer options.

Ditto on Oyin, camille rose almond jai, and PBN sapote and murumuru. I also like the Koils By Nature Leave-in.

I love the Qhemet Biologics burdock root, but it is expensive, so i cant use it for buns.

CES never worked for me either. You ladies make me want to try Soultanicals.

Have you tried the Qhemet Amla and Olive Heavy Cream? I SWEAR by this stuff. I have 4c hair and its very moisturizing. You can see my results on my instagram: 4cCurlPop

I hated CES as well. Left my hair greasy and dry. I had better luck with their hair milks, especially the Yucca and Baobab one.
Other suggestions:
Oyin Hair Dew (not super thick but super moisturizing)
Any of the Camille Rose butters
Soultanicals Marula Muru Moisture Guru
Just realized from your post that I mixed up the curl enhancing smoothie with the hair milk. Yeah CES is a recipe for dry crunchy sticky hair. Curl and style milk leaves soft lotioned hair.

@uofmpanther-If you can stand the LONG wait times, I really recommend this line. I see that you are low-po (as am I) and I adore her Sorrell Kink Drink and the Marula Maru Moisture Guru.

@krissyhair-I could never understand how a product makes your hair greasy AND dry at the same time?!? My hair was disrespectful for a good week after I used it. I had to clarify it out.
