HEEELP:lachen:Ok, I don't know if I can get more specific than this lol. I need everything top to bottom deperately or at least where I can find it. I guess I desperately need a hair twin. If you check out my month 4 fotki I have some wet hair no product pics but bottom line I want my hair to grow and thrive. I've never had natural hair my entire life so this is brand new to me.

Shampoo?
Co Wash?
Deep Conditioner?
Moisturizer?
Leave In?

PLEASE help this desperate newly natural:lachen:

When I was a napptural, all I did was cowash. Alberto V05. My hair was shiny, strong napps. If it ever felt dry, I cowashed again.

that is all.

the last time i was natural, i took the super easy route
i stayed in twists, redoing them every 2wks after a wash

i used diff shampoos (no staple one), i didn't dc at the time either, only cowashed to test out some new rave product

my staple leave in was this coconut/lime/shea butter body lotion (forgot the name, got it at krogers), my staple oil was wild growth hailr oil.

my hair did pretty well w/ this. it's gonna be even better this next time around!

I want to preface this with the fact that I'm a mixtress, because I haven't found many commercial products that fit my budget, the rate at which I use conditioner, and my product limitations (no cones, no petroleum products).
I've also found that keeping my hair stretched 98% of the time helps enormously with retaining moisture and avoiding tangles.

Urm, I use MT as a growth aid, and I use henna for color.

Shampoo? Never - all it does is strip and tangle my hair.

Co Wash? Only thing I do. I used to use straight cheapies, but since I DCowash, I'm using the "better" stuff - Elasta QP Intense Fortifying con, Eqyss Premier Cream Rinse, Trader Joes, caramel treatment, honey, SAA, honeyquat, etc. To increase the clean and/or clarify, I'll add either ayurvedic herbs or baking soda. I'll also often add cheapie cons into a mix, to stretch it so that I can SOAK my head in conditioner. I use about 10-12 oz of conditoner each time.

Deep Conditioner? See above. I DC twice a week.

Moisturizer/Leave-In? I have a homemade mix - shealoe butter, red palm oil, conditioner, glycerin, SAA, honeyquat, castor oil, vitamin E oil, and some lemongrass EO for scent. I apply this once a week when I'm doing my twists (dousing each twist in the mixture), and seal afterwards with straight castor oil.
After my mid-week DC, I try to not wash all the conditioner out of my twists, and I seal with castor oil.

Hey KBragg, you've been natural longer than me but I will still post what I currently use:

Shampoo? Shikaikai Shampoo Bar to wash and Paul Mitchell Clarifier 2 to clarify
Co Wash? Biolage Hydratherapie
Deep Conditioner? Biolage Hydratherapie mixed with coconut milk
Leave In? Cantu Shea Butter
Seal with glycerin/aloe/avocodo oil mix

P.S. Right after I went natural I panicked about what products to use as well. I read lots and lots of books and studied this site day and night (still do). Plus LOTS of trial and error is what helped me find my staples.

Shampoo? Jamaican Mango & Lime *Tingle* Shampoo (I dont shampoo that much though)
Co Wash? Mane & Tail either deep conditioner or regular...deep keeps the curls better
Deep Conditioner? I usually mix all the conditioners I have on hand (keracare, phyto organics, mega tek, mtg, main n tail, hair butters) with le kair cholesterol
Leave In? (work in progress)
Seal with? Coconut Oil

I think we might be in the same hair family. I'm an uber-thick 4a/4b combo.

Shampoo? I have stepped away from commercial shampoos. I might use shampoo once a month, if that. I use black soap for the most part. The times I don't use black soap, I use a gentle aloe vera shampoo-conditioner combo product.

Co Wash? I don't co-wash anymore. This only worked well for me when I just bc'ed. I used Suave or V05 conditioners.

Deep Conditioner?
Sometimes use African Organics hair mayonnaise. I'm not sure if it counts as a deep conditioner or not, but every two weeks or so I make a rhassoul clay mixture (micronized clay, water, coconut milk, grapeseed oil, olive oil) that I leave on for hours on end under a plastic cap and rinse. Hair feels wonderous afterwards!

Moisturizer?/ Leave In? Shea butter blended with aloe vera gel, sapote oil and castor oil. If I'm applying right after a wash, I seal with additional castor oil. My hair tends to be dry, so I apply the shea blend every other day or so.

Hope this helps!

Shampoo-- baking soda and acv rinse (was super skeptical, but it really works!)
DT-- Loreal Nutrigloss for medium to long hair that's wavy or curly
Co- washes--above, as well as trader joe's tea tree tingle conditioner, VO5 (not moisture milks)
Leave- in -- Kinky- Kurly Knot today and Curls whipped Cream; in colder months Shea Moisture Leave- in

I am soooooooo happy to have a regimen that I am comfortable with!
