So, I finally stop wearing braids and i've been experimenting with my natural 4a hair a bit longer than shoulder. I jus wanna know can i have curl definition that actually feels soft and looks good. It seems like a product will give me great definiton and crunch or feel heavenly and look like crap! Any suggestions. I use kccc but its leaves me crunchy, i tried adding glycerin to the mix, with no luck

Any suggestions???
TIA

I agree it seems like the ones that do define curls real good leaves your hair crunchy. Kccc defines my curls nice but it leaves a sticky residue sometimes. I thought I was the only one with that problem. A couple things that defines my curls real good without the crunch is redken ringlet, Qhemet Honeybush Hair Tea, and Jessicurl confident coils. I also just got some curly custard, ginger gel-o from long lovely locks. I'll be trying those out soon, but if you ever order from her make sure through curlmart. Another I use to do to keep from my hair getting crunchy was putting coconut oil on first and then putting the gel or whatever over top of that.

Have you tried just using a creamy leave-in conditioner or not rinsing all the conditioner out after a CW? Shaking my hair after the CW actually does a good job of curl definition too. The lower the manipulation of my hair after I CW, the better my curl definition.

I'm thinking about using gel more often only because I want some sunscreen protetion and I want my hair to stay damp a little longer at the sun gets hotter. But my hair has more frizz because I needed to manipulate it to get the gel in my hair, and my curls are actually smaller with gel than without it. I use the blue fantasia along with a creamy leave-in underneath and I have no crunch in most areas and a very light crunch (easily scrunched out if I want to) in a few spots.

Thanks for the responses so far ladies, keep em coming!! Fantasia gives me good defintion, but it feels really dry, i usually use knot today as a leave in or elucence, i'll try the coconut oil thing, cuz i have it stockpiled and didn't know what to do with it (lol)
