For those of you who transitioned to natural the "long way", what was the best style for you?
I got braids and realized that because I can't take my hair being pulled back its not for me. :cry3: Still looking for the one that just clicks.

Earlier in my transition I wore flexi rods sets alot. I wore that for like 2 months. After that it was braidouts and twistouts. I had my hair straightened once and wore it straight down for two weeks. I plan on getting cornrows this weekend and wearing those off and on till the end of my transition. Now that im getting farther along I just CW everyday and pull into a ponytail. Sometimes I play around and experiment with twisting my hair into an updo and wearing it like that for the day. It's not as glamorous as my other styles at this stage it's the easiest thing to do when im not in braids.

I transitioned for 2 years by wearing up styles the most...that way it was out of the way and I wasnt thinking about it.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll try the braid/twist outs since wearing my hair up for long periods of time gives me a headache.
Your hair is beautiful...all of you :)

I always wore mine in a ponytail/low bun. But then even when I was fully relaxed I always wore my hair the same way...I like the way mid-height ponytails look, but I preferred lower ones because I could make the ponytail looser and still have it look right. I also always parted my hair in the middle instead of pulling straight back. I have some pics of my daily styles when I was transitioning in my lhcf album.

I'm still transitioning and I rely on buns and ponytails for my everyday styling. I do mine wet and it works for me.

I wore braids for over 2 years when I transistioned.(crochet braids, back when they were popular)

For the first 3 months or so of my transition I wore rollersets. Then braidouts for a few more months, until I discovered twistouts. I've been wearing them since about August 04. I transitioned for 14 months.

Braids, roller sets, weaves and now twists. I still have some perm left and parts of my hair was damaged when I had it pressed so for now I rocking twists. Staying on top of my biotin.

same here I was always a ponytail/phonytail girl. And if I didn't do a middle part I did a zig-zag part, worked well for me.
