Well, I was due for a touchup before I left home and I decided not to get one. I'm stretching it out for a BlackCardinal record. If I tie my last record, it will be 7 months sans-relaxer, and if I make it til summer, it will be 9 months. Anyway, while my hair is still under control (I'm at about 3 1/2 months), I just want to find out from you guys what conditioners work best for you as far as softening newgrowth. So if you're natural and you have a favorite softening conditioner, or maybe you're transitioning and some particular conditioner is helping blend the textures...whatever advice anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Wait a minute, let me check out the stretching out relaxer thread first...

I'm 6 months post relaxer and I really like Barry Fletcher's moisture thearpy revitalizing conditioner. It leaves my hair nice and managable.

Hi, I'm natural and Kenra's Mosturizing Conditioner mixed with castor oil as a deep conditioner works very well.

This sounds like a terrific combo. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I'm transitioning and I like Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner as a regular conditioner. I like Suave Professionals Humectant or Pantene Hydrating Curls for conditioner washes. For deep conditioning, I like Queen Helene's Cholestorol, Skala, and LUST.

Oooooh, Hairlove! I *have* to thank you for recommending the Suave Professionals Humectant! I'm heading into my fourth month post-relaxer, and I love how this conditioner made my hair feel - and it's cheap.

Glad you like it! It has a wonderful smell, too!

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

The things that really helped me were Profectiv Growth Masque, Keracare Humecto and Razac Leave-In.

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

I agree with the Kenra and the Suave Humectant...I'd also like to add Pantene Smooth and Sleek and LeKair Cholesteral to the list as well.

· L’Oreal Nature’s Therapy Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment (aka LUST)
· Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner
· Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner

I would have to say Patente S&S. Awesome for new growth. It keeps my new growth soft, smooth and moisturized. Love it.

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

My daughter is natural and cholesterol, Suave and a mixture of Dove conditioner, olive oil and coconut oil work very well with her hair.

My new growth loves all conditioners but Suave Professional Humectant works best.

You may also want to try KeraCare Humecto (make sure to leave it in for 20 minutes).

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

I also liked Lanza Strait Line Condit after five weeks of newgrowth. I also use CON shampoo during these times to start the softening up process....

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

Lanza Strait Line shampoo and conditioner really do straighten new growth! The Lanza products stretched out my coiled new growth (and the underprocessed coils from my do-it-yourself relaxer).

TIGHT COILS -> PUFFY WAVES I'm not kidding.

The shampoo didn't strip my hair either. It's the consistency of Keracare Humecto.

Only problem is that the conditioner doesn't moisturize or detangle as much as I'd like. I wish it felt more greasy like CON. It's a little lite and foamy.

I'm really glad I bought the liter bottles on at Trade Secret. These will be staples, and I'm TOO excited.

Africa's Best HAIR NUTRITION
Africa's Best HEALTHY HAIR AND SCALP REMEDY(applied to new growth not the scalp)
They are both under the Kids Organics line

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

i am so glad u liked it because it is almost hard to believe a shampoo can do that. u are right about the con though. i think the shampoo is great by itself.

Re: Best conditioner when you have lots of newgrow

my #1 vote goes to keracare humecto (20mins under heat cap) ultimate detangling and soft hair

profectiv's growth masque is good at detangling also
