I'm sure there is a post about this somewhere but my question is what is the best hair color to use on relaxed hair and how long should I wait after relaxing to color my hair? Is henna a good temp hair color? I need advice quick. thanks ladies.

I don't like Henna on relaxed hair. Definitely wait until 2 or 3 (or 4) weeks after your relaxer to color. I like Textures and Tones for permanent color.

I'm staying with my natural color black. I'm getting a few strand of gray, and I'm not the type to grow old gracefully, I intend to fight it every step of the way,

Ladydee please don't use henna on relaxed hair. It contains metallic salts which can cause breakage. If you want a temp haircolor try a product called Hennalucent. Caramela, Allandra and I have all used and like it. You can find it at Sally's, and if you want to read more on it go to folica.com and look it up in their haircolor section.
Otherwise I'd say go with a conventional haircolor. If you are using black I don't imagine you'd have too many problems since you are not lifting color out of your hair.

my stylist says semi permanent hair color is the way to go if you have relaxed hair. it fills up the "holes" , she says. but htat's all i know.

i'm too chicken to try it.

I heard that! I'm with you all the way!

Thanks so much ladies. I'm Gonna try the hennalucent. There was a post about it somewhere. It was posted on the entrance page back when I first registered.

I also heard that Bijen is good ( i hope I spelled it right)
Has anyone used that? I'm sure its the one Cathy Howse uses. She says it contains mostly water and does not damage the hair.
