Best braid extension hair for curly styles?

I've seen the hair that some stylists use where they set the hair on rollers then dip them in hot water. I think you need a particular type of hair to achieve this look. Does anyone know the name of it?

i could be wrong but i thought it was regular synthetic hair and the dipping in hot water locked the curl in.

Regular kanekalon hair will do. Lots of Nigerians use a brand called Expression but any ole hair will do. I am wearing one of those styles right now.
