Bentonite vs rhassoul clay

Better depends on what you’re trying to achieve. Generally, Bentonite is more detoxifying and Rhassoul is more conditioning. Aztec Indian Healing Clay seems to be the gold standard for Bentonite. But I’ve never seen a difference in the performance of my clays, no matter what brand I’ve bought. As long as the product is 100% of whichever clay.

I feel that rhassoul clay is more conditioning on my hair than bentonite clays. I also noticed a visual difference on my hair. With rhassoul clay on my hair it has more of a wavy 'S' pattern but with bentonite (calcium in preference) a coily circular pattern is more pronounced.
I've often used a mix of both to balance both cleansing and conditioning.

In my opinion, relaxed heads should stay away from those clays. The clays are very alkaline, which is why they often say to mix with ACV-- to bring the pH down some. To me, sounds like it can create problems down the line. Just my 2 cents.

Rhassoul’s ph is neutral so it would be “safe” for a relaxed head in that regard.
I tried this felt lovely on my hair it had the rhassoul clay in it. I was thinking of trying just the clay on its own with however it needs to be made up.
