After all of my research on Bentonite Clay I finally decided to give it a try. The thing that really made me want to try it was the reports of having softer new growth after each treatment. Also the fact that the clay could be used as a clarifying agent was a BIG plus.
Here’s what I did:
1) Mixed the Bentonite in a glass bowl with water until it was the consistency of yogurt. I smooshed all of the lumps out with my plastic fork
2) Applied to my hair starting at the back making sure to get the clay onto my scalp. I did not apply any oil to my hair since it was already pretty oiling from my daily moisturizing and sealing routine.
3) Massaged the clay through my hair thoroughly and then wrapped my head with plastic.
4) After about an hour or so I rinsed- The clay rinsed out really easy (easier than henna) my hair felt soft and tangle free during the rinse. I did the scratch test on my scalp and I did not find any residue from my weekly moisturizing regimen under my nail.
5) Continued with my regular wash routine proceeding with (the bentonite clay took the place of my regular pre-poo and first wash with WEN) Nexxus Emergencee (2-3min), Rinse with WEN lavender, Deep Condition with Jessicurl Weekly Moisturizing Treatment (left in overnight, normally leave in for 30 min with heat), Rollerset.

I LIKE it! I really, really like it!!!!! This year has really been a year of discoveries for me, first henna and now this. I’m really impressed with the results. I have about 3 textures of hair on my head and at almost 12 weeks post my wet hair was extremely easy to manage and tangle free with no knots or matted hair near the ng and relaxed hair. I’m revising my current regimen to incorporate Bentonite Clay. I plan on using it as a clarifying treatment once every 4 weeks!!!
