Anyway. A month ago I was eating out at a regular local spot and my regular waiter told me asked me to give him a good tip. I was so shocked.
I decided not to go back to that restaurant. But I did yesterday. I told him to stop calling me darling (after he served my food). I also asked him why he asked me to give him a good tip the last time I was there when I always tipped him 20%? I told him he was tacky and I nearly did not come back to eat there. He apologized. Said he was having a bad day.
Not sure I will go back but I needed to get it off my chest. I was so annoyed with him. So gauche. In the back of my mind I wondered if he would have done that crap with a white customer.
