Being fooled by products

Tamrin

unapologetic
GRRR I hate being fooled. I was at Marshalls buying scarves over the weekend and as I browsed the isles, I saw a few bottles of Sexy Hair Organics Moisture Boost. I see moisture, I get excited. The 1.7 fl oz bottles were 5.99.

I'm thinking this is some super product. I bought it.When I got home I pump a little bit and whole lot of oil came squirting out. Its pure greasy oil. (Saflower, sunflower, sweet almond, jojoba, olive, pumpkin, linseed, avocado oils)

The original price of this product was 26 dollars. :lachen::lachen::lachen:. Are the kidding me? It's like they put 1 teaspoon of each oil in the little bottle. At least they could have added some Argan oil. (which I did tonight).Im glad I never paid full price.

Then I turned to look at the ingredients:

Aqua/Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycol Distearate, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Glycereth-26, Decyl Glucoside, Parfum/Fragrance, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Amodimethicone, Polyquaternium-10, Methylparaben, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Propylene Glycol, Carbomer, C11-15 Pareth-7, Benzophenone-3, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Glycerin, Trideceth-12, Laureth-9, C12-13 Pareth-23, Linalool, Tocopherol, C12-13 Pareth-3, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Juniperus Communis Fruit Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Rosmarinus Officinalis Oil/Rosemary Leaf Oil, Methylisothiazolinone, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid.

I laughed so hard the white lady looking in the black hair section at target started to look nervous. I put it right back on the shelf and KIM. Who are these people kidding? Mild huh?

Anyone ever been fooled? Please post yours.

Thanks for posting, I was looking at that Sexy Hair Moisture Boost myself. I would have been mad to pay the retail price £18 or thereabouts for that. :nono:

I KNOW Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate there are a few others that they hide in products AND why so many cones in a shampoo?????:nono: i will stick to my elasta qp cream conditioning poo:lick: or almond hemp castile soap mix

I stick to my jasons biotin shampoo.
I was fooled by Dr. leonardo black hair care products. One thing that does work well is the texturizers. My hair was silky but full. but the product line sucks.

I stopped buying stuff from Marshall's because I realized that most of those products are the stepchildren of the BSS' LOL

In the beginning of my hair care journey I was fooled - suckered, tricked, bamboozled, robbed blind :lachen: - by many products. If it says sexy anything I ain't buying it LOL

Well, NOt really - because I have educated myself on ingredients. I know what is what - and what does what.
I never waste money on oils... I have them at home... or I can buy them in bulk.....

and - Honey - don't ever be fooled by "shampoo"... Surfactants are just that..... surfactants.....

I am not fooled at all. the next miracle - has a string attached to it.....

Thanks for posting this, I am a sucker for products, I do think its hard to go wrong if you stick with buying oils butters etc.

Oh my, I just saw that Loreal commercial and perked up. Good to be a part of this board. They sre had me fooled hiding all those "harsh" ingredients;.

Lol! I normally would agree, but I love the smell of Victoria's Secret So Sexxy. However, I only use it on those extra "special" nights, if uou know what I mean. And then it's only as a quick wash out after I've used my hardcore conditioners.

yea just because its sulfate free doesnt mean they wont load it up with a bunch of other bad ingredients.
:nono:

This is interesting. I was looking at Herbal Essence Conditioners today (theres a ton of different ones) and I noticed ALL the conditioners have the same ingredients, like word for word. 1 or 2 may have an extra ingredient here and there, but basically its the same ingredients for all of them.

Yep. Most of them are the same... and most are made by the same company. it is called Marketing...............

I noticed this about Pantene all except the R&N mask. They are word for word. That's why I read ingredient. I will stay in a store reading the back. I'm not paying to put caca in my hair.

Ummm...I like and use that L'oreal shampoo. (runnning out of thread)
I don't think liking it is the issue but rather the false advertising as in don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining :lachen:
I use sulfates to clarify but when something says sulfate free, I expect it to be just that, which is why I always read ingredients before I purchase.

IDK, they have a lot of brand name products in Marshall's. I get my Chi Silk Infusion there for a third of the price.

That's true, but I think the actual formula is different. I notice quite a big difference between HH and LTR, but I guess others may beg to differ.
