Your hair grew a lot last year and this year. I think we might have the same texture. I hope so, I really love the texture of your hair and I hope when mine gets that long it falls like that. I've been growing my hair out since April so I hope I reach your BC length by Dec. Do you have a hair album? I would love to see it. What products or practices do you use?
No, no hair album. I hardly take pictures, to be honest. The last time I took pictures was probably April.
I do want to point out that both shots were wet hair. The update shot my hair was a bit dryer because I was sitting for a while watching ANTM before I took the picture
Truth be told, my practices/products have changed so very, very much. I keep my hair in natural braids now that I've got a good length, just because I'm a college student (soon to be grad student), and I just don't have the time to get up every morning and style it. I re-braid every few days. I haven't been brave enough to wear it out wet, though everyone I know adores those curls, I really want them grow out some more. I do wear braid-outs when my friends beg and plead. They love my curly fro, but it's so painful to get through them when I shower after a braid-out!
When I started I came to this board a lot, I had sooo many products. I still have most of them, I don't use them. I use BT, maybe once or twice a month, not really for growth. but it really helps with my scalp itching. Other than that, my products are water, shampoo, and conditioner.
I am the rare one who shampoos nearly everyday and my hair loves the attention. I shampoo even if I'm in braids. I use the TIGI product line and I LOVE it. I had been using Suave products, and while I still do when I'm on vacation/forget my others, to me, the price difference made a huge difference.
I've come to the conclusion that less is better for me. If you read my earlier posts on this board, I was obsessed with products and practices and gaining length and making goals, but I've learned what works for me, and I stick to it. I don't worry about my hair anymore, and once I stopped, things went so much smoother.
You'll figure it out too, I promise!
