Beautiful Women getting paid to go on Dates

Somewhere near the intersection of online dating and unabashed prostitution is where you can find WhatsYourPrice.com -- a new dating site where cash trumps compatibility.

Site founder Brandon Wade compares WhatsYourPrice.com to eBay. "When you see a hot single you want to date, just make an offer and buy the first date," Wade explains, in a press release. But that's where the similarities end.

WhatsYourPrice members are divided into two groups: "the generous" (i.e., men) and "the attractive" (women). Attractive users are invited to create profiles on the site, featuring all the basic information you'd find on most dating networks, as well as the amount of money they'd accept for someone to go on a date with them. The generous, meanwhile, can browse through these profiles, and make offers to any attractive users that catch their eye. Once an offer is made, the attractive member can choose to accept it, reject it, or come up with a different price.

Sounds a little like prostitution, right? Well, almost. "This is all about paying for the FIRST DATE!" a spokesman explained to Gawker. "There is absolutely no sex involved, and except perhaps the chance of sex at some point in the future if you are able to successfully charm and seduce. But isn't that what every first date is about?"

In Wade's view, WhatsYourPrice simply injects the dating game with a heavy dose of capitalism. Men can pay up front for a hot date, rather than pursuing women via more traditional dating services. Women, meanwhile, can make some extra cash. The phrase Make Money Dating™, believe it or not, has actually been trademarked by the Las Vegas-based company that owns WhatsYourPrice.

"It's a matter of free market principles really," Wade explained. "I guess that makes me the Adam Smith of online dating!" Or, equivalently, the Dolemite of capitalism.

"Dolemite of capitalism"....:lachen:

This reminds me if the wife shopper thread someone once posted in OT. Goodness. Are we going to start having dowries and bride prices soon, like other cultures have? Arranged marriages, even?

I'm mad that the first black girl I clicked on only wants $80. :perplexed Not that I'm gonna date her, but I do want our going rate to be higher.
:look:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Me, too!

On a serious note, after viewing the website, this whole thing makes me slightly uncomfortable. Even though there is NO sex allowed, there's just something weird about a man "paying" for you. What if he doesn't want to "pay" that much? If you put down a low rate, what does that say about how much you think you're worth?

That really is the essence of what a true escort service does, provide a companion, no sex involved. The whore service industry decided that using the moniker was a good way to fly under the legal radar, so that now, being an "escort" almost always means "prostitute".

LOL @ my mama! "That aint nothing but an escort service"

LOL! Your mama is right. A lot of these men are going to think they are paying for a lot more than just a date :look:

ETA: I just checked out the site & a lot of these girls are half naked or not showing their face in the pics. Looks like independent ahem... "escorts" have found a new home...

Are the people on the site real? I was clicking the pictures and some of it looks made up :perplexed.

I do have to say that it does look like an escort service, lol. If you have looking for a sugar daddy in your profile, then let's be upfront. These dudes claim a net worth over a mil, however.

I think I'm worth $100 minimum for a first date. I'll make you laugh, get you dancing, and I'm nice to look at  Some dudes I've dated have paid around that as well, come to think about it.

Is it just me or do a lot of visibly "ethnic" women seem to put "mixed race" or "other" on this site? It's not a big deal to me but it's something I noticed. I wonder if it broadens their appeal rather than putting just Latin or Black/AA. And you would have to be a fool to believe that ALL of these men's net worth is $5-10 million . Some of them don't look like their worth a redbug with a bathing suit on

They need some type of verification system on that site, but I do say... Some of the wealthiest guys I know look like bums. Sure, that ripped up flannel sweater cost $500, but they look like bums.

One dude whose family was pretty wealthy wore the SAME POLO SHIRT for WEEKS! That ish had holes in it.

He would make Meagan Good proud, no front. Rotated 3 shirts, 2 pants, and some birkenstocks.

I haven't looked at the site, but sometimes I put down 'other' because as a black woman from England with JA grandparents, it's just more fitting for me than AA. And since black is not always synonymous with AA, I'll sometimes chose something else over 'black' or just not answer...it depends on how it's written.

 If I could be absolutely sure this it wasn't some sleazy hookup service and I needed the money, $200.....for coffee. :look: But it's weird to put a price on yourself in general, so.....

If this is legit and if anyone on LHCF does it, I'm sure folks would love to hear about how it went! :yep:

And that thread would go up in purple, blue, and pink flames.

The guy who owns this site just sent me an email about it. He's a dorky little Asian with big pockets. He owns his first successful site www.seekingarrangement.com I admit, at one time I was a sugar baby (and apart of his first site) so yes, it does exist nor does it surprise me as women and men use wealth and beauty in exchange for a lot of things.

When I first left home on my own living the college life I took advantage of those expensive dinners and dates. Most of them I had no intention of ever seeing again and I never slept with any of them. I'm not perfect, but I'm attractive, young and though I'm curvy a lot of men go for that look. This site cuts to the chase because usually sugar babies may or may not get paid while on the date, at least this site you're already getting yours lol. I believe the men on this site are verified. His other site shows and does a back ground check on their net worth.

However, I can tell a ton of escorts are going to be jumping on that money train and they wouldn't even have to "put out".
